The Lake Minnewanka Area
Location Context – Lake Minnewanka Area is the first major destination you come upon when travelling west from the east gate into Banff National Park along the Trans Canada Highway 1.
The planning area encompasses:
- The Minnewanka Loop Road, Cascade Ponds Day Use Area, Two-Jack Lake Day Use Area and Campgrounds, Johnson Lake Day Use Area, and Lake Minnewanka Day Use Areas
- The area follows the surrounding height of land NE of Hwy 1 to the Eastern edge of Lake Minnewanka.
- The planning area does not include the Ghost Lakes or extend to the National Park boundary.
