FAQs
What are the current rules around powerboating in Waterton Lakes?
Powerboats are restricted to Upper and Middle Waterton Lakes only. Privately owned powerboats (both gas and electric) may only launch from the marina boat ramp in the townsite. This ramp is locked and can be accessed through appointment with Shoreline Cruises. All powerboat users must adhere to the Clean Lake Initiative Protocol administered through a partnership between Parks Canada and Improvement District #4. The protocol includes a quarantine period as well as owner/boat registration and motor sealing 90-days prior to the date of launch.
